European Online Investigative Journalism Awards Launched

CMDS project partner, The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom (CMPF) at the European University Institute, is launching awards for the best initiatives in online investigative journalism with the aim of supporting new modes of journalism in Europe. The awards are part of the ‘Strengthening Journalism in Europe: Tools, Networking, Training’ project co-financed by the European Commission that is run by CMPF in partnership with the CMDS.

Funding will be given on an individual basis to three journalists for innovative investigative projects in the following categories:

  1. Freelance journalist (EUR 2,000)
  2. Young journalist, max. 35 years old (EUR 1,500)
  3. Female journalist (EUR 1,500)
