Dragomir Attends Media Workshop in Uzbekistan

Marius Dragomir, director of the CMDS has recently visited Uzbekistan at the invitation of the local UNESCO office. The visit included exchanges with the journalism faculties at the National University and the University of World Languages. Dragomir also took part as an expert in an interactive workshop at the Bunyodkor television complex in Tashkent, organized by the National Association of Electronic Mass Media (N AESMI) with the assistance of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan and the financial support of the British Embassy in the country.

The main goal of the event was to enhance professional skills among journalists in creating videos on social issues. Designers, editors and journalists who produce talk shows and social videos for state and private television stations in Uzbekistan attended the workshop.

The executive director of the NAESMI, Jamila Nurjanova told Uzbekistan Today that the association is working hard on improving the knowledge, experience, professional skills and creative potential of the country’s young journalists. He mentioned that they organize a wide range of educational events such as courses and training seminars, media camps, webinars with experts and international coaching sessions.
