Starkman Interviewed by Digi24 on the Rise of Fake News

Resident CMDS fellow, Dean Starkman has recently been interviewed by Romania's Digi24 on the complex reasons behind the rise of fake news and how it can best be tackled. In the interview, Starkman lists the collapse of traditional media funding models and legitimate verified news reporting, the emergence of new media economics and monopolies in distribution and the rise of digital media consumption as prime reasons for the rising trend in fake news, highlighting how getting informed almost exclusively via our social media feeds in fact confirms our bias and preexisting views.
