Marius Dragomir Co-authors Book Chapter on Audience Engagement
A chapter on audience engagement by Ana-Isabel Rodríguez-Vázquez, CMDS Director Marius Dragomir and Noelia Francisco-Lens has just been published in a volume on total journalism.
The piece, entitled Audiences First: Professional Profiles, Tools and Strategies of Digital Newsrooms to Connect with the Public, is based on the findings of an exploratory research, conducted in 2015-2020, on a sample of 100 digital native media and legacy media.
It explores the changing relationship between media outlets and their audiences. “The data collection had a double objective: to study the emerging professional profiles and the audience measurement tools that strengthen editorial teams in their attempt to improve their relationships with the audience, and to explore strategies aimed at improving the connection with the public through participation and co-creation, both online and offline,” the authors write.
The volume Total Journalism is part of the Studies in Big Data book series by Springer. Edited by Jorge Vázquez-Herrero, Alba Silva-Rodríguez, María-Cruz Negreira-Rey, Carlos Toural-Bran and Xosé López-García, it aims to explore the diverse landscape of journalism in the third decade of the twenty-first century.
